The Music Sea opened the doors of the exhibition Back to the seventeen of Cartagena artists (17/07/2017)

This Sunday the collective exhibition 'Volver a los seventees' was inaugurated, which is part of the program of the La Mar de Músicas festival.

The event was attended by the councilman delegate of Culture, David Martinez.

This show is part of the tribute that the festival is making in this edition to the singer-songwriter and Chilean folklorist Violeta Parra, who was also a multidisciplinary artist, and is part of the artistic section of the festival 'La Mar de Arte'.

Taking the work of Violeta Parra as a painter and textile artist, seven Cartagena artists have made pieces around her figure and her creations.

Violeta's burlap fabrics were exhibited at the Louvre's Museum of Decorative Arts, which made her the first Latin American artist to exhibit there.

Parra also made paintings and ceramics in which they recreate the customs and popular beliefs of Chile.

The collection includes works by Cartagena artists such as Dora Caterineu, Nicole Palacios, María José Contador, Virginia Bernal, Juana Jorquera, Ángela Acedo and Cristina Navarro Poulin.

This exhibition can be visited in the Auditorium and Congress Palace El Batel until Tuesday 1 August, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
