Citizens want Cartagena to be the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy in 2018 (12/07/2017)

The Municipal Citizens Group today requested the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, to convene as soon as possible the Local Trade Council to discuss and evaluate the participation of Cartagena in the process of Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2018 (CEG).

The cities, with the support of the governments of their respective autonomous communities, now have two and a half months to prepare their Application Dossier containing a proposal for a gastronomic event program to be developed during 2018. The deadline is the next October 1st.

The chosen city will be announced on October 17th and will be officially presented on January 18, at the CEG stand at FITUR.

According to the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín, "Citizens are convinced that Cartagena can compete to be the Spanish capital of gastronomy in 2018 ... this award would mean a well-deserved recognition of the work that our hoteliers have done for years, and our associations And institutions.
