The event will be held this Sunday in Playa Paraiso organized by the EMACC and the Swimming Federation, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena (06/07/2017)

The VIII Solidarity Mar Menor Crossing, which organizes the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Cartagena and Comarca (EMACC) together with the Regional Swimming Federation, arrives this Sunday, July 9, at Playa Paraiso.

The sporting event is part of the campaign 'Mójate por la Sclerosis Múltiple' of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Spain (EME).

The event, which will take place from 10.00 to 13.30 hours, will consist of two tests.

One of them will be competitive, aimed at professional swimmers and amateurs, who will have to cover 1,500 meters in the adult categories and 600 meters in the infantile, and will have the European Open Water Champion in 2008, and World Open Water Champion in 2010, Margarita Domínguez, as godmother of the test.

In addition, there will be a non-competitive test, aimed at the population in general and people with Multiple Sclerosis and their families, in which they will swim from zero to 100 meters in solidarity.

The price of the registration for all the tests is of 12 euros for all the categories and tests, with solidary character, and they must be realized through the platform line of exit.

Registration includes the delivery of a diploma, supplies and a T-shirt with a design by Katuki Saguyaki to all participants.

In the competitive tests will be given a trophy to the first three of each category.

During the day, information will also be provided on the disease and the resources of the association, and material designed by Katuki Saguyaki, such as T-shirts, towels, beach bags, caps or key chains with the slogan 'Mójate' will be offered.

The 'Mójate por la Sclerosis Múltiple' campaign, initiated in Spain by the EME Foundation in 1994, is an act of citizen participation and fundraising, whose objective is to improve the quality of care for the people affected and to support the research of Multiple Sclerosis in our country.

It is an action of social awareness and solidarity with the more than 47,000 people suffering Multiple Sclerosis in Spain, and is carried out nationally, from the various associations of Multiple Sclerosis in Spain.

It consists of swimming different meters, according to the category, by a zone bounded in the beach or swimming pool.

In the event organized by EMACC, which has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena through the Department of Sports, will take place in Playa Paraiso and is expected to have a participation around 200 people, as has happened in the Previous editions
