Lopez urges PP to cease its witch-hunt against municipal officials (03/07/2017)

The mayor expresses his conviction that the judge has understood the administrative process of expropriation of the Hotel Peninsular

This morning, the first deputy mayor of the City of Cartagena, José López (MC), has appeared before the judge to give a statement regarding the complaint presented by the PP against the five councilors of MC and the president, Jesus Giménez, for The acquisition by the City of Cartagena of Hotel Peninsular for the extension of administrative units.

After his intervention, López has stated that "everything is clear, as far as I have training to do it."

"I have no doubt that he has been convinced (the judge who instructs the case) and that the statements of the technicians will dissipate the doubts that may have according to the administrative procedures," said the mayor.

López has referred to alleged statements made by the PP spokesman in the City of Cartagena, Francisco Espejo, in which he questions the possible existence of another file relating to the aforementioned expropriation.

The councilman of MC has urged Espejo "to stop throwing rubbish and rubbish on the work of officials," reaffirming the security of Cartagena formation in the good work of municipal employees and at the same time reproving any intention to soil this work.

Expropriation file initiated in 2006

It should be recalled that the current Government team finalized at the end of last year the expropriation file of the aforementioned building, which was initiated in 2006 by the Government
