The Municipal School of Theater celebrates its 20 years raising actors to the scenes of Cartagena (03/07/2017)

Music and theater, as it could not be otherwise, were the protagonists last Saturday of the Gala celebration of the XX Anniversary of the Municipal School Theater.

The notes of the saxophone of Don Sax served as a welcome and setting for the reception of the guests to this festival of the city theater, who had the opportunity to immortalize the memory of that day in a photocall prepared for the occasion before occupying their seats .

The gala began with a theatrical action of 5 former school students who came on stage to claim the importance of theater in our society, not only as an art, but as a tool of life, which was followed by a video compilation of these 20 years.

The councilman of Culture, David Martinez, took the witness of the five actors to talk about how important it has been for him to have studied theater as a young man to perform his activity as a teacher and as a councilor, which is why he considers necessary the support to This institution.

The gala was developed in a very agile way between musical and theatrical performances.

On the stage, the spectators were able to see the actors Luís Martínez Arasa and Lito Campillo, and listen to the performances of the impressive voice of Meggy Vanuls, Maria Jesus, and the orchestra that put the soundtrack to the whole evening.

The intervention of the director of the school, Alfredo Ávila, was a memory of the entire trajectory of the institution, since he was born with very few students and were almost crazy because he wanted to open a theater school, until the last years, in the That dozens of people are left on a waiting list every year and even new groups are opening to cover the demand.

He also wanted to thank the support received from the city council, which has grown over the years and hoped to continue doing so.

There was also a space for those alumni and friends of the Municipal School of Theater who today live professionally as Pablo Monteagudo, Javi Soto, Gabriel Buendia, José Gabriel Campos, Daniel Albaladejo, Manuel Navarro and Jorge de Juan, who for this Order sent their greetings and encouraged the youngest to enjoy the dramatic art and its passage through the school.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, was in charge of closing the night before the farewell with an intervention in which she defended "that it is impossible to live" without the theater, and I emphasize the "fundamental" of the work that takes place in the School Municipal Theater to contribute to "fostering the creative and interpretive spirit of citizens" who come to their classrooms, as well as "improve their ability to express and communicate."

In addition, he undertook to improve the facilities they now have and to strengthen collaboration with the school.

The activity of the Municipal School of Theater will continue this summer with the activities planned for the months of July and August that can be consulted in the information attached to this note.
