In relation to the Mediterranean Corridor, he said that it is "essential for us to be a backbone and creator of wealth in regions that represent almost 50 percent of the national GDP."

He underlined the importance of the peripheral location in the EU "to be the gateway to and from the port of Cartagena, an entire continent."

He noted that 86 percent of the infrastructure of the Corridor is already carried out and advanced that in July will be held in Cartagena a meeting of the Forum Region of Murcia Mediterranean Corridor with the participation of the national coordinator of the Corridor, Juan Barios, "to let us know What is the situation of the projects, works and deadlines of this infrastructure in the Region ".
