CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR ADVANCING RIGHTS

The Councilor for Equality stressed the importance of the celebration of the LGTB Pride and noted that there are many reasons for this, in response to people who question that further organizing.

Among the reasons he has listed is the fact that there are still countries in which the death penalty is condemned to be homosexual, that in just twenty nations, equal marriage is legal (in Spain it has been since 2011), the camps Concentration in Chechnya, repeated insults and assaults throughout Europe, the massacre of Orlando's gay discotheque, cases of bullying and a long list of situations he described as "creepy".

For the mayor are "examples to raise awareness, for those who carry out this week of activities" and for those who make more visible to the people of the LGTBI collective.

"What we want to express is against hate to show our joy, against sadness the happiness we feel to be as we are, to show us that day freely as we like," said Martinez, who added that this festive claim goes "for all Those who were silent one day, for all those who can not speak and for those who will continue in silence. "

In addition, the council has claimed to work from all administrations to educate in equality.

"This is something that we do not have to do only from the City Hall," he said, adding that in educational matters the Ministry of Education should include it in the Education Act.

"We will continue to fight for this to happen and for the curriculum to pick it up and work on diversity. The only way to eradicate homophobia is through education," he said.

In this sense Alberto Alba agreed.

"There has been progress but there is still much to do, there are still many ideas embedded in the social subconscious and that precisely the adult we do is transmit, sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously to the children, who reproduce them In class, "he lamented.

"We have also met some centers that give them a bit of trouble to treat sexual diversity naturally," added the Education Coordinator of the Galactyco Collective.

"There are still many social clichés that we have to remove," he added.

However, as a positive counterpoint, Alba has acknowledged that positive things are also found in schools and that sexual diversity is becoming more standardized.

Like the mayor, Alberto Alba has advocated the need to continue celebrating this ephemeris, and has argued that the heteronormative system is already established, that is what is considered normal, and a heterosexual person does not have the need to go out to the Street to ask for nothing in this matter, "but you can go out on the street fighting for Human Rights."

In this same line has stated that the LGTB Pride is not a demonstration or a parade and wanted to "highlight the word claim", as "this is still a claim," he said.

"We are claiming Human Rights, and that is something that we can not forget."

CARTAGENA, CITY 'GAY FRIENDLY' AND PIONERA

For his part, Daniel Guirau has said that the Galactyco Collective intends "that the city in the end be declared institutionally as 'Gay friendly'" and added that this may be a benefit at the tourist level in Cartagena and region.

"That calls the LGBT groups to come to an environment in which they are well received."

It should be remembered that Cartagena is the first city in all the Spanish Levante to have a demonstration and, not only that, also to have a whole week of activities, according to have commented the representatives of the Collective Galactyco.
