Security against terrorism and cybercrime will play the summer courses of the UPCT (08/06/2017)

The mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the rectors of the two public universities of the Region, José Orihuela and Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, from the University of Murcia and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), presented today at the City Hall the courses Of summer of the International University of the Sea. The UPCT offers 1,100 places in a total of 36 summer courses.

Among the UPCT summer courses this year, Rector Diaz has highlighted the commemorative ones, such as those centered on the Year of the Enlightenment, the sixtieth anniversary of the germ of the European Union and the centenary of the Russian Revolution, and those who have As the main theme of security, both from the perspective of cybercrime up to food surveillance, through international terrorism.

Director of the National Institute of Cybersecurity

The best specialists in cybersecurity in Spain meet at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena to teach a summer course that combines theory and practice, engineering and law.

The course 'The Defense of Cyberspace and its regulation', of four days duration, is attended by the director of the National Institute of Cybersecurity, the director of the National Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures, the Director of Cybersecurity of the Department of Security National, and the president of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), the most prestigious certification body at international level.

Together with these specialists, prosecutors, law professors, businessmen, hackers and military experts will present the challenges and opportunities of the digital environment.

Former Secretary of State for Security

Former Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Martínez Vázquez, will analyze the phenomenon of terrorism in the summer course of the UPCT "What you do not know about terrorism in Europe".

The course will be held from 3 to 5 July in the Faculty of Sciences of the Company and will offer a practical workshop on the actions to be taken in case of being immersed in an attack.

Martínez will present a vision of Spain against international terrorism based on his professional experience.

During the course, Diego Miranda, Director of Operations of the GEES group will talk about the criminological profiles of terrorists and other imitators.

Students will also be able to learn about the use of devices, mobile phones, the time and place where an attack occurs and how to later share the information on the Internet and with state security forces and bodies.

Body language

How to interpret movements of the head, hands or arms or what the conscious, semi-conscious and unconscious movements of a person say are some of the topics that the students of the UPCT summer course will learn 'Learning to see a little more than simply Apparent - Initiation in techniques of observation and interpretation of microgestos and unconscious body language and its application to different professional fields'.

The course is taught by the synergist Alberto Barea, an expert in physical and forensic anthropology, and Diego Miranda, Criminal Profiling, operations director and behavior analysis expert from July 4 to 7 at the Faculty of Business Sciences.
