The offer includes a total of 45 courses, classical and new, dealing with all kinds of topics such as languages, security and defense, body language, painting, history, literature, crafts, gastronomy, psychology, politics, terrorism, communication, navigation, diving , Cycling, geography, personal growth, robotics, internet, cybersecurity, environment or architecture, among other subjects.

Also included are several commemorative courses of this year related to the Enlightenment - on the occasion of the Year of the Enlightenment -, the Russian Revolution, of which a century is celebrated, or the course on 'Spain in Europe' that commemorates The sixtieth anniversary of the germ of the European Union, as well as issues of cybersecurity, security in critical infrastructures or jihadism, very hot topics in today's society.

In 15 of these training activities, there are institutions such as the General Air Academy, the Navy Diving Center, the Marine Infantry School 'General Albacete y Fuster', the National Police Corps, the Cartagena City Council and other consistories.

SIMBIOSIS BETWEEN INSTITUTIONS

The mayor was grateful to both rectors, representing their respective institutions, for sharing with the city of Cartagena "the knowledge that treasures the two institutions that govern" as well as "the kindness and affection" with which they have always treated To the municipality.

"They are helping us advance at a much higher rate," he said.

"For two years this team of government has drawn the course of Cartagena from the hand of these two universities," added López.

"We understand that it is transcendental the contribution of knowledge that they make to mark the direction that we have to take in the development of our city", indicated the first mayor.

Alejandro Diaz Morcillo, for his part, has alluded to the "commitment to society" of the university institution and the "service" that it carries out "through scientific, technological and cultural dissemination."

In another line has highlighted the "variety and quality" of the courses scheduled for this summer that have the goal of reaching students, both from the two universities that have joined on this campus as well as others, and the general public .

José Orihuela stressed the importance of this "common project" and expressed his desire for a "deeper projection" at all levels.

"Among all of us, we must collaborate so that science, research, ingenuity, promotion and knowledge reach all the recipients, and among these recipients there are many people who have to come from outside the Region," he said.

PERMANENT HEADQUARTERS IN CARTAGENA

The three have agreed to seek a permanent seat for the International University of the Sea in the city.

"We are absolutely grateful that the two universities are pleased that the permanent headquarters are in Cartagena and that this university that is now a summer campus can last that almost eternal, almost perpetual summer that we have in our Autonomous Community and in Cartagena "Said the mayor.

José Orihuela recalled the "commitment made long ago with the city that this city, Cartagena, will house the permanent headquarters of this International University of the Sea" that make up the two public universities in the region.

"The permanent seat can not and should not be other than this city of Cartagena," he said.

The rector of the University of Murcia has encouraged "to obtain that permanent seat of the International University of the Sea", since, he argued, that will mean that it may be "the first Spanish university in the approach of being 'International of the Sea', and Of the Mediterranean Sea ".

One of the ideas for this permanent venue is to request the batteries of Santa Florentina, Santa Ana and Santa Ana Acasamatada to the Ministry of Development and, in case there was no possibility of getting their cession, To request others from the Ministry of Defense.

Of the 45 courses that have been programmed, the UPCT participates with 36 courses that offer more than 1100 places, an increase of four training activities and 100 places with respect to last year, while the UMU does it with nine training actions.
