Citizens asks the Ministry of Education to double the enrollment of students of the school Albujón (06/06/2017)

- The voice of Citizens in La Palma, José Luis Sánchez, has informed that the students of El Albujón participate actively in the school life of IES Carthago Spartaria (bilingual programs, ERASMUS, extracurricular activities, etc.) and are perfectly integrated in life School of the center and warns that the Institute of Secondary Education of El Bohío presents serious problems of massification that could be aggravated in the future with the exclusive ascription of the students of El Albujón

The Municipal Group of Citizens has transferred to its deputies in the Regional Assembly the need to urge the Ministry of Education to maintain the double assignment of the students of the school Luis Vives of El Albujón both the IES El Bohío in Los Dolores and the IES Carthago Spartaria of La Palma.

In addition, the Cartagena Municipal Citizens Group today registered a motion in the same direction that will be debated at the next Municipal Plenary.

According to the information sent to the Municipal Group by the members of the Town Council in the Neighborhood Council of La Palma, José Luis Sánchez, the students of the Public School Luis Vives of El Albujón have been able to exercise until now the option to enroll, when finishing their Primary stage , Both at the El Bohío Institute and at La Palma.

However, the Ministry of Education has planned to eliminate the double assignment and the possibility of choosing a center for students of El Albujón from the next academic year 2017-2018.

According to the Orange Formation member in the area, "this decision is eliminating the freedom of choice of center and causing great harm to the families of the students of El Albujón who already have other members of his family studying In the secondary education institute of La Palma, especially due to the problems of conciliation of the different schedules of the institutes of El Bohío and La Palma ".

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, said "that children living in towns that do not have Secondary Education, as in El Albujón, are at a disadvantage and that generates educational inequalities that must Oblige administrations to take compensatory measures ".
