The City Council remembers on one side the prohibition of flying non-sport pigeons during competitions and official training (01/06/2017)

Theft of sports pigeons is becoming a more frequent problem affecting Colombian fans.

Some of these specimens can reach appraisals of more than one thousand euros depending on the championships and tests they have won and their training.

That is why both the strong subtractions in the places where the owners shelter them and their capture with other lure animals on days of competition are a constant.

Because of this problem that occurs throughout the national territory, also in Cartagena, and pursuing the goal of attacking it, the mayor of Cartagena, Jose López, has dictated a side in which he remembers that it is forbidden "the flight for doves not Destined to the sport practice during the celebration of official trainings, contests and competitions Colombian and Colombian ".

Likewise, the party is concerned that the breach of these regulations, which is based on Law 3/2011 of 25 March on Protection and Management of the Sports Practice of Colombiculture and Colombofilia, carries penalties ranging from 60 to 6,000 Euros.

Colombian colombiculture is a sports practice very rooted in all Spain, but especially in all the Levant of the peninsula, as in Cartagena.

For this reason the City Council has decided to remember the legislation and municipal ordinances in force to this effect, trying to avoid that the sports pigeons can be taken away by the method of capture by other animals that act as a decoy to attract these individuals.
