A call for integration in the Third Party of the Street (15/05/2017)

The Parque de los Juncos was converted last Saturday May 13 into an area of ​​integration to celebrate the Third Street Festival.

A day of coexistence with leisure, games and creative activities, organized by homeless people with the collaboration of different social entities and the councils of Equality and Social Services.

Many residents of the city came to participate in these activities, which were also joined in the middle of the morning by the mayor, José López, the Councilor for Social Services, M. Carmen Martín and the Councilor for Tourism, Obdulia Gómez.

He began the day with a breakfast for the attendants during which he began to warm up engines and to know each other.

The day followed with a Tai-Chi workshop to get going before starting the different workshops prepared by the organizers.

At 12 o'clock, it was time to read the manifesto of the Street Festival, which invited citizens not to turn a blind eye to poverty that crosses their path every day, to help those who suffer Be it with a smile.

"Homeless people remain in a street situation because we have become accustomed to it, but we live with discomfort and frustration without knowing very well how to change it, we need spaces in which it helps us to heal our wounds, to cure our physical problems and Psychological, our addictions, our lack of training, our lack of self-esteem, ultimately to put our lives in order "read one of the members of this group, before thanking the Red Cross, Caritas, Hospitality Santa Teresa, La Huertecica, ACCEM, the Department of Social Services for working together in this social commitment with the collaboration of CEPAIM, the Department of Equality and the Cartagena Football Club Foundation.

After reading the manifesto the mayor also dedicated a few words in favor of integration and to continue working for this group.

The day followed with activities prepared that included dance and electronic music.

Finally, they finished with a meal in which attendees and organizers shared a table and conversation.
