Crowdworking Carthago offers entrepreneurs a platform for growth and acceleration of ideas (12/05/2017)

The space dedicated to the project Crowdworking Carthago, within the program 'Murcia Open Future', was inaugurated this morning in the building of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena in the Quay Alfonso XIII.

An initiative organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), the Institute of Promotion of the Region of Murcia (INFO), Telefónica and receives the support of the City of Cartagena.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Martínez, was proud to inaugurate the space dedicated to Crowdworking Carthago and thanked the support of all the partners and collaborators of the project.

However, above the inauguration of the physical space, Martinez wanted to highlight the start, today, May 12, the deadline for submitting projects to participate in this entrepreneurship initiative.

"The Chamber launched and put all its economic and human resources at the disposal of this project with the sole objective of boosting the productive fabric of the Region of Murcia and in particular of Cartagena and its Region," said Martínez.

Valentín Fernández, head of the Telefónica Open Future project worldwide, which already has more than 40 sites in America, Europe and Asia, has explained that any entrepreneur, anyone with a technology-based idea that wants to mature it, Accelerate and grow it can enroll in this project.

The call is open to any economic sector.

The selected projects will participate for 4 or 8 months in Crowdworking, a network that will make available to the participants an acceleration methodology developed by Telefónica over the years, will have contact with experts and advisers through talks and Meetings, will receive advice from the mentors who make up the Telefónica Open Future team, and at an economic level, a team of investment partners will know about the business ideas that are developed in this space and will be able to finance those projects that are of interest to them.

That is why Fernández has encouraged everyone to enter the website, see the Open Future concept and know what possibilities of knowledge and opportunities for growth offers.

In that sense has indicated that there is a closed number of places to participate, but will seek to integrate as many interesting projects as possible within the physical capacity of the space.

From the UPCT, its rector, Alejandro Díaz, has considered as very positive for the university to be able to participate in this initiative to "contribute the raw material, contribute the knowledge in entrepreneurship and innovation".

"This project generates an ecosystem formed of entrepreneurs, venture capital and knowledge, who can help the participants and surely many of them will be students or our graduates," said Diaz.

The mayor of Cartagena, José López, thanked that the Chamber of Commerce was chosen as a space for this initiative.

It has wished the greatest success of participation so that the participating business ideas become a successful reality "in the fastest possible way" to move the Regional economy.

Asked by the media, the mayor has stated that the payment made by the Autonomous Community to pay off the debt of Podecasa, is only part of that debt, specifically the interests that were owed to the bank.

It has also indicated that no land has been ceded to the City of Cartagena.

In addition he has evaluated as positive Adif investment project in the Cartagena Train Station, which has indicated to have known through the press, and has hoped that dedicates to consolidate the building, which is Well of Cultural Interest.
