The City of Cartagena will mount its Cruz de Mayo at the doors of the Palace Hall (04/05/2017)

Cartagena celebrates this weekend the Cruces de Mayo, and on this occasion Councilman Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba, appeared Thursday at a press conference to give details of these parties, with the installation of a total of 48 crosses east Year, among which stands out, for its novelty, that the City of Cartagena will install, for the first time, at the doors of the Palace.

Specifically, there will be 10 crosses installed by associations and 25 establishments in the center of Cartagena, as well as 13 in neighborhoods and councils.

Among those that will be installed in the center are the cofradías of Holy Week and the Brotherhood of Romeros de San Ginés de la Jara, which will be located in their usual locations in other years.

In addition, the federation of troops and legions and the Federation of Comparsas and Chirigotas of Cartagena Carnival will also install their own junctions of May, as well as the 'Association of residents of Cuatro Santos and Ramón y Cajal' and the Citizen Platform 'Cartagena Centro' .

For its part, explained Torralba, the City Council will open theirs this Friday, May 5, at 18:30, after which will build a puzzle of the municipality of Cartagena in which representatives of each deputation will insert the corresponding piece and, At 20.00 hours, there will be performance of the Santa Ana rondalla.

At 1230 hours, stressed the councilman, will play the musical group Duetto and, at night, there will be trovos, at 20.00 hours;

With performances by José Martínez 'El Taxista', Juan Santos Baranda, Andrés Marchán and Iván López, who will be accompanied by singers Isabel Nicolás and Álvaro Martínez, and by Juan Solano on guitar.

With this decision, which has been taken unanimously between the different councils involved, seeks to improve the conditions of rest of the residents living in the historic city of the port, as Torralba has emphasized.

This effort to find a balance between rest, outdoor activities and nightlife in Cartagena will be extended to other parties and municipal programs, such as Easter, Carnival or Carthaginians and Romans.
