ESPAC begins on Tuesday the second edition of the Extensible Defense course and handling of shackles for local police (02/05/2017)

A total of 60 local police officers from Cartagena begin this Tuesday, May 2, the course 'Extensible defense and handling of shackles', to be held at the Public Security School of the City of Cartagena (ESPAC).

This is the second edition of this course, and will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 2, 3 and 4.

It is part of the 2017 Training Plan of the City of Cartagena for local police officers, with the aim of preparing them to make rational use of the police staff during the interventions, so that they use it more as a deterrent than attack, learning To face the different situations in which he may be forced to use self-defense techniques, making a legitimate and proportional use of his police staff, which like any weapon is always subject to legal restrictions.

The course will be taught by personnel specialized in the subjects to be treated.

It has a duration of six teaching hours and is especially aimed at police officers and operating unit commanders.

Thus, among the subjects that are taught in the course must be highlighted the displacements;

The development of tactile ability;

How to move towards contact;

Defense against fist and leg attacks: use combined with hand techniques along with defense;

Techniques of dislocation, projection and reduction;

Use of the staff in the melee and projections;

Ways to control the soil;

Strangulations and pressure points;

Defense against stabbing and blunt objects and the correct location of the defense in the working belt.
