The Efese visits his followers of Astus for the 50th anniversary of the association (27/04/2017)

The Guardianship Association of the Person with Disabilities (Astus), a member of Plena Inclusion Region of Murcia, received yesterday, April 26, the visit of the three captains of FC Cartagena, Juan Carlos Ceballos, Jesús Reguillos 'Limones' and Sergio Jiménez ;

To those who accompanied the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón and the Councilor for Social Services, Mª del Carmen Martin.

Also present in the visit were the president of FC Cartagena, Francisco Belmonte, and the general director, Manuel Sánchez Breis.

The councilors and footballers have known the different workshops that are carried out day by day to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the users through a comprehensive care that includes programs of labor training and personal and social development.

Subsequently, videos of the association and the club have been projected, which have shown the activity generated by both, as well as the importance of the dissemination of sport as an inclusive activity.

The day has continued with a delivery of gifts of FC Cartagena to the users of Prolam, who have thanked the detail of the players.

Finally, the players of the Efesé have 'submitted' to the round of questions of the students of Prolam, who have been able to ask their idols their main concerns and curiosities in relation to the actuality of FC Cartagena, team that during the next weeks Will compete for returning the club to the second category of national football.

This meeting precedes the events with which FC Cartagena is added on Sunday April 30 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the association Astus.

Before the game against Jumilla, at 18:00 on Sunday, children and children of Astus will accompany the players when jumping into the field;

Athletes and adults will launch a round of penalties at the break.

In addition, throughout the meeting there will be a place next to the canteen where to buy the anniversary commemorative bracelet and thus collaborate with the association.

THE MUNICIPAL SUPPORT FOR THE WORK OF THE ASSOCIATION

The City Council of Cartagena has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the association, embodied in different avenues of action, such as the assistance provided to the activities organized by the association.

Also in other important issues, such as the construction promoted by ASTUS of a residence for the elderly with intellectual disability and / or cerebral palsy, 'La Resi', whose construction will be based on municipal land in La Vaguada.

The City Council considered the construction of 'La Resi' as a municipal work, with all the priorities that this implies.

Among the benefits obtained when considering as municipal work are the exemption of the payment of municipal fees as well as those corresponding to professional colleges by the NGO.

It is evident the will of the Executive who presides over López to advance in the projection of a friendly municipality for all, reflected in the numerous measures taken to focus attention on inclusive policies aimed at seeking equal rights among citizens.

Astus supports more than 600 people from birth until old age with a network of centers that continues to grow and thanks to the dedication of the families themselves and the professionalism of about 130 workers, in addition to the selfless contribution of dozens of volunteers.

The common goal is the full inclusion of people with disabilities, for which the collaboration of all Cartagena society is fundamental.
