The Municipal Archive has presented its new website, completely adapted to digital devices, and also has the novelty of incorporating the second period of the Cartagena Historical Magazine, now in free digital edition, which in its first era was founded in 2002 by Ángel Márquez and had its last number in 2011. The press conference has been in charge of Interior Councilor Francisco Aznar, whose area depends on the Municipal Archives, the Archives and Libraries coordinator, Cayetano Tornell, and Angel's daughter Márquez and member of the editorial board of Cartagena Historico magazine, Eva Márquez.

The web platform of the file "already consolidated" after many years of activity, as indicated by the councilman, "needed a new version and adapt it to the new times".

It is for them that a very important work has been done to create "a responsive web (that suits the size of any digital device) in which they collaborated the team of web designers of the City together with the technicians of the Archive in a very Narrow "Aznar has reported.

In addition to the new design, "easier and more pleasant to consult," he wanted to highlight the novelty of the inclusion of the Cartagena Historical Magazine, "which for many years was the backbone of Cartagena's historical studies and was considered by the Experts in the field as the largest project of local historiography that had been known in Spain.

Regarding this second stage of the magazine founded by Márquez, now in digital format, her daughter has said she is proud that "this unselfish desire to spread our culture [...] is retaken, bringing the history of Cartagena to all parts of the world. World through this web ", and thanked the work of all those who have participated in the renewal of it.

Tornell also wanted to remember in his speech the figure of Ángel Márquez, whom he knew very well and of whom he said to have a "fond memory" as a promoter of historical research in the city through the publication he founded.

An initiative that took over from other missing projects that had been carried out by the Municipal Archives as a contest of historical publications and that sought to bring to light the historical research in Cartagena.

In the new platform the first issue of the magazine can already be accessed, and the 39 issues of the previous stage and the 36 monographic books that were published have been digitized.

The technological adaptation of the new website will allow a better positioning of its content when it is found through search engines (SEO), as informed by the archives and libraries coordinator, who has been in charge of briefly showing the web through Of 2 screens.

The sections are the same, in addition to the new magazine, distributed in a simpler and more accessible format.

In the section of Actualidad the section XVIII Century is added direct, created by reason of the year of the Enlightenment, to the news of the Archive.

Also included in the section Cultural Promotion is the video section of the month, which will publish a monthly video a historical video mounted from the video archive recently donated by Telecartagena to the Municipal Archive of the city.
