The Water Monitoring and Control Commission knows the actions carried out in relation to this service (05/04/2017)

The Commission for Monitoring and Control of Water of the City of Cartagena has met this afternoon under the presidency of the mayor, José López.

The Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, the Councilor for Participation, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the Councilor for Finance and Procurement, Isabel García, as well as the spokespersons for the three opposition groups, Francisco Espejo (PP), Manuel Padín (Citizens) and Pilar Marcos (CTSSPP).

Representatives of the concessionaire company, Hidrogea, and municipal technicians, headed by the general director of Infrastructures, Manuel Nicolás, were also present.

Hidrogea had taken a notary to record minutes of the session, but left the room before the beginning of the session for not being called and explaining that the official secretary of the commission was the only one who could act as a public official of the same and Which also recorded the sessions in full, so that their contents were faithfully reflected in the minutes.

As explained by the mayor at the end of the meeting, the Monitoring and Control Committee is the legal channel of relationship between the City and the concessionaire of the service,

And the session this afternoon has had a marked informative nature in which the municipal government has been informed of the processes currently under way.

These include the so-called Pokemon case and the requests for information that the Lugo court has dealt with the City of Cartagena with respect to the concessionaire, companies and politicians involved in this case and who have had a relationship with the City of Cartagena.

Likewise, it has been realized the process that is followed for the establishment of a new tariff structure and a reduction of around 12 percent in water receipt, according to the update that corresponds to the cost study elaborated by the municipal technical services .

The mayor has announced that these procedures, after resolving the concessionaire's allegations after the transfer for 10 days that will be given tomorrow, will be resolved soon by the Governing Board.

The new prices for the tariffs proposed by the municipal services could enter into force in a term that would oscillate between one and three months, depending on the procedure that the same does the Autonomous Community.
