Cartagena, Torre Pacheco, the Rural League and the Wind Mills Association unite to value their mills. On Tuesday a work meeting was held to join efforts and achieve common lines of action around this heritage of the Field Of Cartagena (07/03/2017)

The councilman of Area of ​​Culture and Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado;

The Councilor Delegate for Tourism and Rural Development, Obdulia Gómez;

And the Director General of Historic and Archaeological Heritage of Cartagena, Mª Carmen Berrocal, participated on Tuesday, March 7, at a working meeting presided over by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, in which they sought common lines of Performance around the windmills of the area.

Thus, the meeting was also attended by the secretary of the Rural League of the Field of Cartagena, Javier Lorente;

The president of the Windmills Association of Torre-Pacheco, Manuel Mateo;

The councilor of Culture of Torre Pacheco, Raul Lledó;

The councilor of Tourism, Rosalía Rosique;

The mayor of Finance and Communication, Carlos Lopez, and the Cultural Technician of the host Consistory.

During the meeting they have analyzed the problems that exist around the Wind Mills and have been reached common lines of action around them, as well as solutions.

In this sense, Ricardo Segado has extended that "the possibilities of action for the recovery of this extraordinary ethnographic heritage symbol of the agricultural landscape of our surroundings" have been studied.

Both Segado and Gómez have emphasized the importance of further progress in the work consisting of a Rehabilitation Plan and a program for Windmills to survive in time, as well as collaborate in a common tourism program.

In turn, those present at the meeting have considered the meeting as "very productive" and have emphasized the commitment to work together to advance and enhance our mills.

For its part, Leon has stressed that the objective is "to start these mills, rehabilitate them, not fall, to know the neighbors and enable them not only as a cultural resource, but also as a tourist resource." Intervention has stressed that there is a priority, that of "working together", with a single voice before the Regional Administration "requesting that it also collaborate with us and be involved in getting in the Campo de Cartagena, that unique landscape that is the Of the Windmills ".

DIRECTOR PLAN OF ALL MUNICIPALITIES

The head of the Culture and Heritage area has informed the participants about the meeting held on February 21 in which members of the CARM, the UPCT and the Official College of Industrial Engineers of the Region participated, where progress was made in the Master Plan that aims to boost the recovery of the Windmills.

In this sense, Segado has assured that "it is imperative that all the municipalities of the Region work together to recover the windmills of the Campo de Cartagena."

For this, said the mayor, "we will support the Master Plan of CARM, as long as there is all the municipalities."

At the same time, various initiatives have been discussed during the meeting, which will be expanded at an upcoming meeting, with no date and place confirmed, "but which will surely take place after both the City Council of Torre Pacheco and Cartagena meet with the Directorate General of Cultural Property ".

IMPULSE TO THE CARTAGENA REGION

On Monday, February 27, the first mayor of Cartagena, José López, met with the mayors of La Unión, Torre Pacheco and Fuente Alamo and the councilman of Enterprise and Industry of San Pedro del Pinatar to address various issues of interest to these Municipalities of the Region of Cartagena, debating about the steps to follow towards a regional development objective, in order to promote savings to the coffers of the respective councils.

Thus, López stressed after the meeting that "no municipality is more important than another in the Comarca del Campo de Cartagena" and stressed that "the provision of the City of Cartagena is maximum to make a more prosperous region."
