The earliest preacher of Holy Week crowds the UPCT Auditorium (05/03/2017)

The expectation that had generated the most early proclamation of how many have been made in Cartagena Holy Week, has been confirmed tonight.

The UPCT's paraninfo has remained small to house the nearly 600 people who have filled their capacity to hear for an hour the speech given by Ginés Fernández Garrido, where he has spiced up his experiences and memories, with live music performed By the female group Musiquitas of the Musical Group Willows and with images projected on a giant screen.

The event, organized by the City Council of Cartagena and the Guild of Holy Week, has been able to watch and listen live on the internet through the municipal channel of Youtube.

In the presidency has been the mayor, Jose Lopez, along with the Nazarene Major, Maria Jesus Moreno Garcia, the President of the Board of Cofradías, Manuel Martínez Guillén, and the crier.

There was also the Minister of Culture and Portavocía, Noelia Arroyo, the second vice-president of the Regional Assembly, Domingo Segado, the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Morcillo and the Arsenal Admiral, Aniceto Rosique;

In addition to the vicar general of the diocese of Cartagena, Juan Tudela and the older brothers.

The official proclamation of the processions, which had traditionally been celebrated on Fridays of Sorrows since its beginnings in the 70s of the last century, has been advanced at the beginning of Lent.

The mayor in his speech explained the reasons for this change with which the act acquires all its meaning to announce an event in advance and avoid saturation of activities of the Patron.

Manuel Martínez Guillén, president of the Brotherhood Board, has made the face of the crier and the Nazarene, giving way to the speech of Ginés Fernandez with which he has made a few times laugh with his anecdotes and others feel intensely personal experiences since Child, who grew up in a California family, but who ended up being slap.

The Nazarene, in her intervention that ended the act, has revealed the circumstances that led her to become a waitress of St. Peter, following the family tradition of her mother-in-law and has reiterated her desire that soon there will be a woman older brother of one Cartagenera brotherhood.

The mayor in recognition of the two, has given them the usual plaque with his appointment and a brooch and gold shield of the city, respectively, that will wear from now.
