The City Council will collaborate in the Carburo de Plata solidarity race to raise funds for the treatment of rare diseases (01/03/2017)

The Portman Nautical Club organizes a new edition of the Solidarity Regatta 'Carburo de Plata', in which this year the 'Enrólate' campaign is organized and will be held from 2 to 4 June in order to raise funds that will go to The Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes, in an event in which the City of Cartagena will also collaborate.

This was confirmed by the Mayor, José López, on Wednesday, March 1, after the meeting with councilors of the Quality of Life and Sports area, Francisco Calderón and Ricardo Segado;

For his part, the president of the Association D 'Genes has indicated that the benefits of the race will allow the entity that heads to establish in Cartagena "a delegation to directly serve people and families living with rare diseases."

In turn, Carrión thanked the "hospitality" of the mayor and the solidarity of CN Portman.

Similarly, the president of the association 'D'Genes' said that "today have taken the first steps to work in conjunction with the City Council and Cartagena has a multidisciplinary center of care for people and families with rare diseases."

A disease, said Carrión, is considered rare when it affects a limited number of the total population, defined in Europe as less than one for every 2,000 citizens.
