The expert of macroeconomic prediction of the Bank of Spain anticipates in the UPCT Thursday the changes in productivity, competitiveness and growth (21/02/2017)

The Forum of Economy and Society of the Faculty of Enterprise Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) offers this Thursday, at 12:30, the conference 'Productivity, competitiveness and growth.

Macro policies or individual effort? ', Given by Gabriel Pérez Quirós, head of the Macroeconomic Analysis unit of the Bank of Spain.

Doctor of Economics from the University of California San Diego and a graduate of the University of Murcia, Pérez Quirós has worked as an economist in the Independent Fiscal Responsibility Authority, the Economic Office of the President of the Government, the European Central Bank and the Reserve Federal of New York.

He has also been a consultant to the OECD, the United Nations, the European Central Bank and the World Bank.

A specialist in macroeconomics and econometrics, the speaker is an expert predictor of changes in economic cycles and their relationship with financial variables.

He has directed numerous doctoral theses at the University of Alicante and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​where he teaches doctorate courses.

His works have been published in American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Econometrics, among many other specialized media.

He has also been editor of SERIES, Journal of the Spanish Economic Association.
