Esteban Bernal takes Arquitectures to the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena (13/02/2017)

The title chosen for the exhibition 'Arquitexturas', by Esteban Bernal, which opens in the 'Hall of Temporary Exhibitions' of the Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena on February 14 at 20:00 hours, and which is scheduled to attend The Councilor for the Quality of Life Area, Francisco José Calderón, summarizes the artist's connection to this spatial discipline and its approach to it, through texture and color.

The author projects in his work on canvas, table or paper, his creative vision in existing spaces or his invention, to return these painted works loaded with atmospheres and filtered lights, perspectives and chromatic ranges that transport us to spaces full of serenity.

The exhibition is a tribute to architecture and travel, understood as an intellectual and sensorial experience because it implies transference in space and time, capable of transforming anonymous and uninhabited architectures into vivid and nostalgic places that invite Discover and walk through the memory.

The curator of the exhibition, Juan García Sandoval, points out that "its textures have a lot in common with the miner. The use of rusty colors gives rise to atmospheres that remind us of the red of the earth, the rusty castles of La Bernal is a painter of essences and truths, as well as an interpreter of his emotions and his travels through architecture, both vital and artistic journeys.

With the placement of the exhibition in the Hall of Temporary Exhibitions of the Museum of Roman Theater of Cartagena, where the very presence of Roman architecture in the room gives added value to the exhibition, the artist establishes a dialogue between the ancient stones and his Special look at architecture through texture and color.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Esteban Bernal, born in La Unión (Murcia), graduated in Fine Arts in the specialty of Painting by the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 1984. He has been an Associate Professor of Bachillerato and Professor of Drawing since 2011. He has eleven national awards, Medal of Honor of the 'VII BMW Award' held in Madrid in 1992, and has held 47 individual exhibitions inside and outside Spain.

He has also participated in more than 120 collective exhibitions.

As sculptor he has made numerous works for squares, public buildings, monuments and motorways.

Within the field of graphic design he has designed and designed different magazines, publications, CD's and has created several logos, as well as numerous illustrations, book covers.

It has also produced 13 posters, some of them national and international.

In addition, he has developed his artistic work using the new multimedia technologies with the realization of several audiovisuals
