The Local Government Board, meeting this morning, under the presidency of the mayor, José López, approved this morning the change of denomination of 15 streets, squares and avenues of Cartagena, El Albujón and Santa Ana.
This is a first batch of the 28 affected by the application of the Law of Historical Memory, which has been proposed by the Technical Commission of Streets in which are integrated the official chroniclers.
The names have been agreed in Santa Ana and El Albujón with the neighbors.
The criterion followed has been to restore old names, such as the Plaza de Bastarreche, which will be renamed Plaza de las Puertas de San José, as it was previously known to this place;
Or of historical events or denominations characteristic of each locality.
