The middle mayor to look for the solution to a leakage of spills in the Girl Algameca (07/02/2017)

The mayor of Cartagena, José López, met Tuesday with local representatives of the Algameca Chica, among which was the president of the neighborhood association, Jose Manuel de Haro.

The meeting, which was also attended by the director general of infrastructure, Manuel Nicolás, have addressed various issues of interest to residents of the area.

At the end of the meeting, the mayor has appeared before the media to remember the Work Table promoted by the City Council and made up of the competent administrations at the site, such as the Ministry of Defense, the Segura Hydrographic Confederation ) And Coast Demarcation.

At the same time, he expressed the position of the local government that, due to these circumstances, it is constituted as "an observer who tries to represent the neighbors and to work with them".

The main reason for the meeting was the search for solutions to the cessation of a discharge caused by a leak, possibly caused by the rupture of a non-localized pipe.

This is causing spills to the Rambla de Benipila.

It is worth remembering that during last summer this fact caused the collapse in one of the entrances to the Algameca.

In search of solutions, the mayor has called the Admiral Arsenal Chief, Aniceto Rosique, with whom, accompanied by municipal technicians, have moved to this corner of the municipality.

The purpose of the visit has been the location of the source of the leak or, in any case, advance in a proposal in the event of not determining the same.

The measure would be to pump the water, through a pumping station, through the pipelines that have the military facilities, directing it to the purification station of the City of Cartagena.

In this way, it would avoid that the run-offs end up polluting the sea and the rambla itself.

MAJOR INVOLVEMENT OF THE SECURITY HYDROGRAPHIC CONFEDERATION

In another order of things, the first edil has remarked that the Confederation has been requested again, and "for the fourth or fifth time, to facilitate the map of runoff and the flood map of the rambla to check what period of return has ".

It is intended to prove how a flood would affect the population center.

The councilman has remarked the commitment of the City to clean the urban stretch of urban waste accumulated by the last rains.

López has finalized asking for the involvement of the CHS to "re-empty the rambla, more than a meter underground."

Also to act on the eucalyptus of great size that obstruct the channel of the rambla, avoiding possible detachments in the rambla.

TABLE OF WORK BY THE GIRL ALGAMECA

It should be remembered that the work of the Working Table for the protection and maintenance of the Algameca Chica began last May under the chairmanship of the councilman of the area of Culture and Heritage, Ricardo Segado.

In this working group the political groups that are part of the Plenary, as well as neighbors of the Algameca Chica and members of the Institute of Housing, Infrastructure and Equipment of the Ministry of Defense (INVIED) are integrated.

In this way, the municipal government responded to the requirement unanimously approved by the town council to convene a work table for the conservation of this unique place of Cartagena.

In its constitution, Segado said that "despite the fact that the City Council has no jurisdiction in the Algameca Chica", since this area depends, among others, the Ministry of Defense and the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, "are going to collect the Proposals of the political groups and of the neighbors so that the Government team urges the competent entities to look for solutions ".

THE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION WILL BE FIXED IN THE CITY COUNCIL

The president of the Association of Neighbors of the Girl, José Manuel de Haro, explained that in his interview with Lopez he has conveyed his concern about the spills with the intention that the mayor put "of his hand to see and solve the Illegal dumping that is being done there. "

"One of the leaks has caused the sinking of the access road that the neighbors have to enter" the village - which has more than 110 houses, said Haro.

"This association, last summer made an investment of 3,600 euros to repair the road that had sunk, but for a lot of money we spend, if the issue of leaks is not solved, all that is being done is to spend money without Solve anything, "lamented
