Odilo, with 40% of UPCT alumni in staff, will create a technological development center in Cartagena (03/02/2017)

The Venezuelan company Odilo, a participant in the Network of Chairs of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), has presented a six million euro investment plan to create a Technology development center in its new offices and increase its staff.

Odilo currently has 13 UPCT alumni among its thirty employees and has included 75% of the students who have been awarded scholarships in the Polytechnic since it was launched at the end of 2013.

The company, with only five years of existence, has become an international reference in digital content technology with customers in more than 30 countries and has recently been awarded the prize for the best startup in Spain by the newspaper 'Actualidad Económica '.

From their new development center they will distribute technological solutions to their commercial offices in Spain, the United States, Latin America and Australia.

Rodrigo Rodríguez, founder and CEO of Odilo, explained during the presentation, attended by the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz, and Vice-rectors Alejandro Pérez and Mathieu Kessler, that the company already has more than 1,300,000 contents Digital in 40 languages, to which users have accessed for five million hours.

Among the new projects of the company, Rodríguez has cited a collaborative and interactive reading platform, with which they want to encourage reading among schoolchildren, travel guides for Iberia and Lonely Planet and other innovative initiatives in Chile, Dubai and the Philippines.
