The first edition of Cartagena Ciudad Transparente stands out for the high participation and the quality of the works (02/02/2017)

The Councilor for Portal and Office of Transparency, María José Soler, went this morning to the educational centers of San Vicente de Paúl and IESO Galileo de Pozo Estrecho to deliver the prizes of the competition 'Cartagena Ciudad Transparente', in the category of education high school.

In the past, Soler presented the awards in the categories of primary education, as well as in companies, associations, foundations, federations and professional colleges.

The mayor congratulated the high school students who have been awarded prizes, in addition to highlighting the high level of participation and the quality of the works presented at this closing event of the first edition of Cartagena Ciudad Transparente.

María José Soler has also stated that "we are very satisfied with the final result of this competition which, of course, will continue in the coming years.

It has become clear that the concept of transparency is already part of the day to day of our neighbors, including the young students.

The students of 4º of ESO of the school San Vicente de Paul, Irene Olmedo Herrera;

Esteban Soto Egea;

Lydia Rivera Risueño;

Raquel Roja Hernández;

María Navarro García;

Cinthia Yuste Gómez and Adrián Solano Martos, have won the first prize of 'Cartagena Ciudad Transparente' thanks to a video on transparency carried out collectively.

For his part, the second prize went to the student of ESO 4th of IESO Galileo, Mario Muñoz Álvaro, for his writing 'Cartagena, transparent city', while the third prize has been awarded to Adrián García Sevilla, who is in 3rd Of ESO at IESO Galileo, for 'Mysteries of the City'.

CARTAGENA CITY TRANSPARENT IN THE CLASSROOMS

In the educational field, the competition 'Cartagena Ciudad Transparente 2016' has been aimed at primary and secondary students, deepening the students' opinion about the concept of transparency.

It has differentiated between elementary students (who competed with a drawing and a phrase that reflects what they mean transparency) and secondary students (who, individually or in group, have presented reports or research related to this subject).

The competition 'Cartagena Ciudad Transparente', which has celebrated its first edition, is part of a global municipal government policy designed to boost, expand and strengthen transparency in municipal public activity, involving citizens of the same, as well as Guaranteeing the right of access to public information and good governance.

The work of the Department of Portal and Office of Transparency, led by María José Soler, for the benefit of transparency in municipal management, has allowed the City of Cartagena to be the only Consistory of the Region, and one of the 26 in all The country, which complies with 100% of the indicators on quality and transparency of public communication set by the Infoparticipa Seal, a state reference for the study of transparency and the quality of information of local administrations.
