The photo exhibition Calle del Angel Juan Manuel Diaz connects the present of Cartagena with post-war years (30/01/2017)

'Street Angel' by Juan Manuel Diaz Brugos makes until April 2 reviews the cartagenera memory of the second half of the twentieth century through a city street, one that saw the birth of the author himself, the Same that gives title to the sample.

To do this, he compiles old photographs of other artists and complements them with his own images, made expressly for this combined work.

The creator of this exhibition was born in the port city in 1951. With this work tries to evoke his childhood and show the evolution of the places that saw him grow, and does inspiration from the 'neo-realist' movement in Italian cinema, which will They remember the scenes of their first years and vice versa.

The photographer Juan Manuel Diaz Cartagena Burgos opened on Friday, January 27, at the Regional Museum of Modern Art (MURAM) and the Palacio Molina, his exhibition Calle del Angel 'in a double act in two buildings.

The opening ceremony of the headquarters of MURAM was attended by the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez, while at the Palacio Molina attended the councilman of Youth, Ricardo Segado, and the mayor, Jose Lopez.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Juan Manuel Díaz has exhibited in more than one hundred individual exhibitions and more than one hundred and eighty collective.

His work has been exhibited in France, Argentina, the USA, Japan, Cuba, Germany, and the Dominican Republic, among other countries, in museums and venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the IVAM and the Casa de América in Madrid.

Also, it was part of the project 'Photography in the region of Murcia', the most ambitious made around the murcian photography, and in 2000 presented at its own initiative the bases for the creation of the Photographic Historical Center of the Region of Murcia ( CEHIFORM), which was created in September 2001, and which he directed until the middle of 2007. He is also the author of more than fifteen monothematic books and photographic essay.

VISITING HOURS

The exhibition 'Calle del Ángel' can be visited until April 2 at the MURAM from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 00 hours and from 17:00 to 20:00 hours, and on Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00 hours.

Also at the Molina Palace, until the same date, from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
