The first participative budgets of Cartagena will have more than 188 million euros (10/01/2017)

The Local Government Board of Cartagena has approved on Tuesday the draft municipal budgets for 2017, presented on Tuesday by the mayor, José López;

INCREASE IN THE COLLECTION OF WASTE AND REDUCTION OF COLLECTION BY CHAIRS IN VELADORES AND FINES

In chapter 3, which includes tax and other revenues, the budget is reduced by 3.08% compared to 2016, which translates into 1,090,000 euros less than in 2016. Thus, although the household waste collection service is Increased by 1.82%, the rate of treatment of solid waste decreased by almost 375,000 euros, as it stopped pouring other municipalities into the plant.

On the other hand, chapter 5 of the budgets incorporates an item related to the interest of the participatory loan granted to the company Cartagena Alta Velocidad SA, to manage the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena.

INCREASE IN PERSONAL EXPENDITURE

Francisco Aznar has disaggregated the data referring to the expenditure of personnel for 2017. Thus, he has described this project as "the budgets of the consolidation of the employment in the City council of Cartagena".

OTHER EXPENSES

The heading for the participatory budgets, which are a pilot experience that has been developed for the first time in the City of Cartagena, exceed 1.5 million euros, and stand at 1,567,587 euros for this 2017.

In addition, real investments, which account for 3.25% of the budget, include 400,000 euros to be used to purchase goods at Casco Antiguo and 1 million euros for expropriations.

The budget also includes the recovery of the Gisbert Market and the completion of the football fields with artificial grass Virgen de la Caridad and José María Lapuerta.
