The unemployment has dropped in the municipality of Cartagena with respect to November 2016 in 517 people and is located in 18,720 unemployed.
Likewise, the inter-annual index for December 2015 has decreased by 1,502 people, which is the best unemployment figure since December 2010, which stood at 18,489 people.
Ana Belén Castejón, deputy mayor and head of Economic Strategy, explained that "for us it is great news, although this does not mean that we are going to relax.
Although the City Council has no competence in employment, from Economic Strategy we will not stop working to provide solutions and contribute to these figures are reduced much more.
Thus, we are encouraging the creation of businesses and proposing to our business network new formulas such as cooperativism, in addition to increasing the training offered by the Agency for Local Development and Employment and adapt it to the real needs of our companies.
With regard to youth unemployment, Cartagena has been located in 1,564 unemployed people, which is also the best data recorded in the municipality of the last nine years, since December 2008.
By economic sectors, in the year-to-date of December 2015 there has been a decrease in 1,502 people and in each of the sectors, and in relation to the previous month has fallen in a total of 517 people in the sectors of Agriculture and Services, fundamentally.
