Infrastructures installs sixteen canopies and continues betting on public transport (03/01/2017)

The area of ​​Infrastructure of the City Council of Cartagena that directs the mayor, Jose López, continues betting by the promotion of the public transport like example of sustainable mobility contributing, besides, to the care of the surroundings.

In this way, the works for the installation of new canopies in the municipality continue to be executed, which will facilitate the waiting for users of public transport.

In the last weeks, eight new canopies have been supplied and installed in different locations, lacking to date of this infrastructure or needing to be replaced.

Likewise, in the near future, work is planned to continue with the installation of five new roofs that will be located in different locations such as Santa Lucia hospital (external consultations);

The twelve new canopies join other three that have been managed and relocated by the area of ​​Infrastructures that the first mayor directs, after being retired after the reform of the street Alfonso XIII of Los Dolores by the former Executive.

It is, therefore, an action that has been executed at no cost to the municipal coffers.

The canopies have been placed to service Los Dolores, Molinos Marfagones and Los Partidarios.

The policy of promoting business participation and free competition promoted by the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Patrimony, Isabel García, has made it possible, in the specific case of supply of canopies, the acquisition of each of them for a price cut in almost 50% compared to acquisitions made by previous managers.

This way of working has resulted in the acquisition of a greater number of awnings for the same price.

The figures reveal, therefore, a clear increase of transparency and participation in public procurement, encouraged by concrete measures, such as the implementation of telematic processing, a measure established by the Department of Procurement and that is enabling a significant time savings And resources to benefit the agility of the process.
