Citizens present amendments to unlock the College of La Aljorra and transfer the Franco Deposit of Cartagena (23/12/2016)

- To be included definitively in the Budget Project of the Autonomous Community for the 2017 financial year would displace 850,000 euros to transform the logistical and educational profile of the municipality.

- Citizen spokesperson for Cartagena, Manuel Padín, believes that none of this will be of any use if the regional government does not execute the budgeted, "without a high degree of execution, everything is paper, so our effort and our work will be to check that The Community launches everything planned for next year "

Among the 87 partial amendments registered by the Parliamentary Group of Citizens in the Assembly are two that are addressed to the municipality of Cartagena.

If included in the Draft Budget of the Autonomous Community for the financial year 2017 would displace 850,000 euros.

These are two strategic items that will entail the transformation and development of the economic and educational profile of Cartagena.

Amendment to make viable the School of La Aljorra

The Ministry of Education and Universities plans to undertake a school in the town of La Aljorra in the municipality of Cartagena, with charges to European funds, on a plot provided by the City of Cartagena.

On this plot, a report has been prepared by the Commissioner of Aguas del Segura, which outlines the need to adopt measures to protect against the risk of flooding.

The Parliamentary Group of Citizens, at the request of the spokesman of the Orange Training Municipal Group, Manuel Padín, considered the need to undertake a study for the definition of protection actions against avenues in that population, for which it has proposed An amendment to the budgets of € 350,000 to be entered in Chapter 6 of the budget of the Directorate General for Water.

According to the Citizens' spokesman in Cartagena, "we are not forced to undertake any other obligation than to satisfy the interests of the Carthaginians, if we have to do, as opposition, the negotiation, diplomacy and contribution of solutions that the local Administration should have done We do it, because for us the general interest of the Carthaginians is far above political strategy, or partisan interest. "

This amendment of € 350,000 represents the viability of the project to build the school of La Aljorra in the parcel provided by the City of Cartagena, and the release of 4 million euros from European Union ERDF funds.

The amendment submitted by Citizens supposes to unblock 4,350,000 million euros and responds to the historic claim of 400 families of La Aljorra.

Manuel Padín explains that "the effort and time that has been dedicated by our Municipal Group to unlock the situation in the face of the risk of losing European funds has been enormous, there have been many internal meetings, talks with the local administration, With the Water Commission, many alternative projects, but today we can say that we have taken a decisive and almost definitive step so that the new school of La Aljorra, as parents want, is a reality.

The local spokesman does not expect "the local government to appreciate what we have done, from experience in past situations, the response of the PSOE Government and Citizens' Movement has been either indifference or twisting reality to informally intoxicate citizens, ( This is what happened with our amendment to the imminent feasibility study of the Logistics Activities Area), but we hope that, whatever they say publicly, they have learned the lesson, and once they understand that in order to get the investments to Cartagena, Right hand, but also the left, be blunt in denouncing abuse and injustice, but also some intelligence, cunning and skill "

Amendment for the Transfer of the Franco Deposit

The regional deputies of Citizens also have registered a partial amendment to reserve half million euros for the transfer of the Deposit Franco of Cartagena.

The local spokesperson of Ciudadanos considers that "the transfer of the Deposit to the Industrial Park of Los Camachos is the germ of the future ZAL of Cartagena, the commitment to turn Cartagena into a great intermodal logistics node, with hundreds, perhaps thousands of associated jobs, Will not be real, until the regional budgets do not contemplate it ".

Manuel Padín points out that "in addition, all business, transport and all administrative groups agree that the increasing demand for services of the Depot forces its transfer, but the declaration of intentions does not move anything, but the investment for Do the project and execute it ".

"I want to remember, because it is fair to do so, that our Parliamentary Group was the first to present an amendment to the 2016 budgets to finance the feasibility study of the ZAL of Cartagena, it was our Group that recently submitted to the Industry Committee , Work, Trade and Tourism of the Regional Assembly an initiative, unanimously approved for this transfer, and now it is also our Group that registers this amendment for the study and execution of the transfer.

Degree of execution

Citizen spokesman Cartagena assures that none of this will be of any use if the regional government does not execute the budgeted, "without a high degree of execution, everything is paper wet, so our effort and our work will be to verify that the Community launches Everything planned for 2017 ".

"We have several pitiful examples in the year that we left behind: the viability project of the ZAL, budgeted thanks to us in 2016, has not been executed and is back in 2017," explained Manuel Padín.

For the spokesman, "when our work to draft partial amendments to increase investment in Cartagena, our work of control and pressure to do so begins."
