Brushing maturity is the fruit of the work of 25 elderly people who with their works, based on brushstrokes of freshness, demonstrate that age is not an obstacle to get what they want.
The Department of Social Services, through the Unit for the Elderly and people with Disabilities, develops a volunteer program called "The trunk of experience", where people who want to transmit their knowledge or hobbies, offer their time to teach others .
Within this framework, and for four years, the Painting Workshop, which is aimed at those older people who want to start in the world of painting, has been developing in an uninterrupted way, for which they have volunteers to teach the classes.
The inauguration of the exhibition with the works of the workshop took place today, Monday December 12, on the ground floor of the Faculty of Sciences of the Company, the hand of the Councilor for the Quality of Life Area, Francisco Calderón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, which has also been attended by the artists themselves.
At the head of this painting workshop is Pedro García Romero, who has not hesitated for four years to transmit and teach his students their knowledge, as well as the joy of sharing moments.
The exhibition collects 45 pictures, a sample of the works that these elderly people have done during this year, and can be visited on the ground floor of the Faculty of Sciences of the Company until Monday, December 19, 10.00 a.m. 13.30h and from 17.00 to 20.00h.
