Maria Teresa Cervantes presents her last two poems in the festival Deslinde (23/11/2016)

The Cartagena poet María Teresa Cervantes (Cartagena, 1931) will present this Thursday, November 24 in Cartagena, within the poetry festival DESLINDE, his last two poems published.

These are The Moon at Midnight and The Emotion of Space, both from the Huerga & Fierro publishing house, which add to its long list of poetry books.

The event will be at 8:00 pm, in the Auditorium of the UNED of Cartagena (C / Engineer de la Cierva, 28).

It will be presented by Francisco Henares and Joaquín Alcaraz.

María Teresa Cervantes was born in Cartagena (Murcia) in 1931. She debuted with the book of poems Ventana de amanecer (1954), and has published over fifteen books of poems, these being the two most recent.

She is also author of essays and volumes of memoirs, and has been translated into German, Arabic, French and Italian.

In 1966 he founded the poetry magazine Títiro sings, and in 1969 he graduated in French Literature from the University of La Sorbonne (Paris).

Until 1971 she was a Spanish reader in secondary schools in Paris;

From that date, and until 1995, she worked in Bonn (Germany) as a Spanish teacher, having among her students many children of Spanish immigrants.

He returned to his native city in 2003, after several decades living between Germany and France.

He has won awards in Germany, Spain and France.

His legacy, ceded to the City Council of Cartagena, will integrate part of the future Museum of Carthaginian Writers, which would also host the headquarters of the Carmen Conde Foundation.

HAIKUS EXPRESS WORKSHOP BY JOAQUÃN PIQUERAS

Before, in the same place, but at 18.00h., The poet Joaquín Piqueras will give an ultra-fast haiku creation course (approximately an hour and a half).

It is a workshop of a practical nature - in which the exercise of creative spontaneity will be present - and open: attendees will be able to register at the moment to be able to participate with their own creations and also enjoy the works of the students present, Both face-to-face and online.

Besides knowing the technique and the basic knowledge on the art of haiku, you will be able to verify in own pen how this very brief Japanese composition is a perfect mold to adopt from contents of our western actuality to a wide range of subjects.

LATIN POETRY IN CARTHAGO NOVA

In the morning, at 11:00 a.m., in Augusteum (C / Caballero nº6) there will be another original act included in the program of the festival and that will be carried out by students and professors of IES Jiménez de la España, who will declaim poems of Latin authors related to the times of Carthago Nova.

It is to make public hear poems and authors that could be read in this same city two millennia ago.

They recite: Luis Francisco Ros Sánchez, Alba Maria Caracuel Murcia, Paula Pérez Romero, Paula Martínez de Rituerto Rey, Juan Carlos Bernal Seville, Sara García Marcos, Sergio Félix González Guitart, Mateo Méndez Schröder, Paula Isabel Serna de Haro.
