Throwing eggs on Halloween and its legal consequences (30/10/2016)

Increasingly it is putting in place in our port city, an Anglo-Saxon tradition of Celtic origin such as Halloween is celebrated tonight.

This party certainly has become known for our Spanish society due to advertising issued in different series and movies, is quite funny and curious as people dress up in costumes themed horror symbolizing the night of the spirits.

Importantly, and must take into account that a party where people dress, asks candies and final intention is to have fun and enjoy many young people confused, as in other aspects of life only we were the bad and malicious every moment.

When I say that young people are sometimes with the worst they see, I mean that many take advantage of this holiday to throw eggs at homes, vehicles, buildings and other elements of the street, imitating the typical trick or treating on Halloween party.

Cartagena Local Police conducted a special monitoring device that will control all night that no vandalism and incivility are discussed, at all times to ensure the tranquility of the neighbors.

The egg throwing action is not nonsense, because it can assume a slight to the Organic Law 4/2015, of March 30, protection of public safety, offense and punishing the author to cause damage or Turbidimete real or personal property for public use or service, as well as movable property or private property on public roads, they do not constitute a criminal offense.

This type of vandalism is punishable by fines of 100 to 600 euros in the case of adults and juveniles, is violation of the Criminal Law of Minors, in addition to the economic amount for damages.

It is therefore very important that parents explain to their children the unlawfulness of the action of release of eggs, because something that at first seems something fun and funny, can be carted high administrative sanctions.

In addition, although parents are not material perpetrators are civilians responsible for the minor, having to answer for the economic damage by vandals damage caused by their children.
