Citizens Cartagena has reported that negotiations between the owner of the art collection Marifí Plazas, Fernando Gallego, and the Ministry of Culture for a selection of these works will become part permanently, although rotating in the Regional Museum of Art modern in Cartagena (MURAM) are on track and expected to reach an agreement soon.

Citizen has learned that last September 5 there was a meeting between Fernando Gallego and the Minister of Culture, Noelia Arroyo, in which it was found the willingness by both sides to the museum hosting the collection of Marifí Places imminently, and which reached Gallego is willing to ensure that the works and enter the MURAM.

In early February this year held the first session of the Joint Commission studying the arrival of the art collection Marifí Places to MURAM.

Citizens gushed negotiations with the owner

Cartagena citizens reached at the end of September 2015 a historic agreement with the owner of Marifí pitches for the arrival of the collection to Cartagena, after more than fifteen years of blockade in negotiations between Fernando Gallego and the regional government.

After one of the meetings with Fernando Gallego, he informed the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena that their conditions to give the collection had changed, and that the main obstacle is the requirement that forth in its entirety, had disappeared.

After confirming this change of heart by Fernando Gallego, Citizens Cartagena requested through the heart of the City of Cartagena, which were restored urgent negotiations between the regional government, the City of Cartagena, and the owner of the art collection .

Given the irresponsible passivity and indifference of the government team of the City Council, the Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena was forced to take back the initiative and requested a meeting with the Minister of Culture to discuss the matter which led to the establishment of the Commission mixed.

Marifí collection Plazas

The gallery Marifí Plazas Gal is a prestigious collection of twentieth century art.

The collection consists of about 400 pieces of important authors such as Antonio Saura.

This exhibition has been exhibited in New York, Berlin, Belgrade, Warsaw, Vienna, Brussels.

The works that includes originals of Arroyo, Guinovart, Clave, Redondela, Canogar, Genovese, Bores and Guerrero, among others.
