UPCT and Women in Africa offer scholarships and online teaching young African (21/10/2016)

The rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Alejandro Diaz, the president of the Women's Foundation for Africa, Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, have signed a framework agreement that will allow collaboration between the two institutions in the field today university training and research, in order to contribute to the development of Africa and especially women of that continent.

Women for Africa Foundation is a private nonprofit created by the former Vice President of the government of Spain, Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, whose main objective is to promote cooperation and development projects with women as the main protagonist.

UPCT thus joins the list of Spanish universities with which this foundation has collaboration agreements and has allowed in the past two years to fund 17 scholarships for African women.

Fernandez de la Vega stressed the importance of the agreement to transfer knowledge with cartagenera university: "African women take full advantage of these opportunities are brave, committed and contribute in their countries to improve the lives of them and their families.
