Increase by 300% the number of students pursuing a separate title in the UPCT (28/09/2016)

A 300% increase in the number of students enrolled in their own taught online titles, twice research grants and an increase of 20% of students who have done internships in companies are some of the achievements of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena ( UPCT) in the past academic year, highlighted by the general secretary of the UPCT, Maria del Carmen Pastor, during the opening ceremony of course held on Wednesday.

In continuing education courses UPCT 1,300 students enrolled in the course 2015/2016, compared to 300 the previous year.

The increase is due to the offer of securities offered non-contact manner.

Regarding the internships, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena over 2,000 agreements with institutions and companies, mostly located in the Region of Murcia.

More than a hundred students won a research grant and transfer derivative contracts 'Article 83' with institutions and companies.

This amount doubles that achieved the previous academic year.

It highlights the research activity, where 93 research and development groups managed 16 research projects and obtained four patents and models of unity.

In these tasks also they highlighted the six EBT's (Technology Based Companies) in assets.

UPCT maintained during the last year an important activity with companies and institutions.

Researchers signed more than 300 contracts 'Article 83' to respond to the real needs of the productive fabric.

The amount increased by 53% and the number of contracts and agreements rose 37%.

Five research groups achieved one million euros in the call for aid to groups and units of scientific excellence in the Region of Murcia.

In Chairs Network Technology Based Companies, consisting of twenty companies, the latest addition has been the public company Navantia.

Regarding the commitment to internationalization, UPCT has received 23 students from India.

This year will reach over 70 and have initiated mobility programs with Arab, Iran and Egypt Emirates.

They have also reached 72 students from Singapore and 28 through the INPS Italian program.

Among other data, according to the general secretary, 1,274 students have participated in volunteer programs.

Besides them, other students have been involved in aid projects, with measures of attention to diversity and corporate promotion and equality.
