The Cartagena unemployment falls in July 508 people and achieves the best figure for six years (02/08/2016)

According to figures released by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, unemployment in the city of Cartagena has been reduced by 508 persons compared to June, representing a decrease of 2.74%.

This figure is placed above the regional, where it is reduced by 1.79%, and national, falling 2.23%.

Thus, the total number of people registered with the National Employment Institute (INEM) at the end of July stood at 18,003, a figure that allows for optimism because, as commented Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Economic Strategy, Ana Belén Castejon, increasing unemployment gradually decreases.

Furthermore, she added, it is the best figure since July 2010, when unemployment stood at 17,700 people.

Compared with data from July 2015, registered unemployment decreased in Cartagena 1620 people, representing a decrease of 8.26%.

JUVENILE UNEMPLOYMENT

Deputy Mayor also highlighted the reduction of unemployment of those under 25 years, since, as mentioned, has experienced a significant decline.

Compared to June it has fallen by 150 people, while over the previous year (July 2015), has been reduced by 218 people.

It has announced that this is the best figure of youth unemployment in July since 2008.

BY SECTOR

On the other hand, by sector it has seen a reduction in unemployment in July in all of them except for the Industry.

In the year 2015, the sector has been reduction of 1,620 people and is fulfilled in all of them.
