The local government and the Student Council UPCT find ways of collaboration (29/06/2016)

The mayor, Jose Lopez, accompanied by manager of the municipal company Casco Antiguo, Antonio Garcia, held this morning a meeting with the Student Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), represented by its president, Francisco Joaquin Jimenez;

his vice president, Desirée Elisabet Cubas, his treasurer, Adrian Perez and his secretary, Noelia Carrasco.

At the end of the meeting, Francisco Joaquin Jimenez welcomed their meeting, expressing the desire to maintain a close relationship with the local administration.

During the meeting they have been addressed infrastructure issues, such as facilitating mobility across campus by bus lines;

volunteerism through volunteer bag Student Council could collaborate in municipal initiatives;

nightlife;

social and cultural activities, as well as the possibility of connecting the floors of the City bag with the Student Council to give students more options when it comes to access to housing.

Both sides have valued very positively the content of the meeting, being called on reunionesde future work for further progress in these and other matters of interest.

STUDENT COUNCIL OF UPCT

The Student Council, founded in 2001, is the highest body of student representation UPCT.

Its functions are to ensure the compliance of the rights and duties of students as defined in the statutes of the UPCT;

and promote student participation activities and participate in the organization and supervision of electoral processes in which student representatives are elected.
