Last places for the summer course UPCT on Cultural Landscape, memory, identity and sustainability (28/06/2016)

The Roman Theatre Museum, in collaboration with the Summer Courses organized annually by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has organized for this new edition a course entitled Cultural Landscape, memory, identity and sustainability, to be held from 18 to 20 July in the hall of the museum center itself and estáabierto to inscriptions.

Cultural landscapes, according to the Charter of Krakow 2000, are the result and reflection of a prolonged interaction over time, across different societies between man, nature and the physical environment in which they develop.

The course aims to address these issues through various examples containing these cultural values, as in the case of the Bay of Cartagena, whose defense system is an example of singular importance because it characterizes large areas of territory including scenic, cultural , historical and social significance of the most diverse.

It also aims to generate a reflection on the means of protecting this heritage and conservation issues of valorization and public use.

In this course the growing importance of the cultural landscape, where given the opportunity to get to know the Royal Arsenal of Cartagena, hand of one of its researchers will address the teacher architecture María Jesús Peñalver UPCT, with which a guided tour will take place.

It will also deepen the defensive system of the Bay of Cartagena as a Cultural Landscape from experts in your research as Munuera David and Jose Antonio Martinez, culminating with a visit to Fort Christmas.
