Coordinator of Associations of San Antón organized in the evening of last Thursday, June 23, the traditional feast of San Juan.
The bonfire night featured various activities that allowed the neighbors, children and adults, enjoy a pleasant evening in a fun, inclusive and festive atmosphere, but especially revitalizing the rich folk traditions of this traditional cartagenero neighborhood.
The event began with an exhibition of dolls Juan and Juana and pipers, all made by members of neighborhood associations.
They continued with a chest of evil desires where everyone could express their fears and then burn them at the stake.
Then there was a shared communal dinner which was accompanied by the musical performance of the soloist Alfonso English.
The Folk rhythms were also present in charge of bagpipes and percussion band Tabaire.
As a final touch, the lighting of the bonfire was held by the Brotherhood of Romeros before hundreds of neighbors.
In short, it was a night in which cites numerous neighbors in the Plaza of the Church in order to claim the role of partnerships while was met with the ancestral tradition of burning the bad in the sanjuanero fire occurred.
The Coordinator of San Anton was represented in this activity by the City of Cartagena through laConcejalía of Social Services, as well as by the Brotherhood of Romeros, the Neighborhood Association, Encajeras Bolillo, Accem, EducoYa Association Adult Education Association San Anton and Cultural Foundation Cepaim.
