The Murcia festivals UPCT bet on the responsibility to drugs (23/06/2016)

Producers and professionals from the Sea of Music, Lemonpop, Legends of Rock, Garage Beat Rabolagartija and have met in Cartagena pioneering way to promote good practice in the great musical events

Sebastian Feringa Hall of School of Industrial UPCT has welcomed this morning the workshop 'Responsible service' on the promotion of good professional practice on drug dependence in music festivals, organized by the NGO Control Club in collaboration with the Delegation of government for the National Plan on Drugs, the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the University of Murcia.

They have participated in the workshop directors, producers and professionals festivals like, the Sea of ​​Music, Lemonpop, Legends of Rock, Rabolagartija, Garage Beat, as well as technical and representatives of some of the municipalities in the region of Murcia where lead out this type of event, along with NGOs in the field of drug prevention, as controls Club.

The participation of music festivals in the program of the National Plan on Drugs, which until now had focused on cooperation with the hotel industry, is a pioneer in Spain.

The workshop was also attended by Juan Jimenez Roset of the Ministry of Health of Murcia, Marcos Ros Sempere, Vice Chancellor of Campus and Sustainability at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Beatriz Miguel, dean of research, Eva Herrera from the University of Murcia and those responsible prevention Service UPCT.

The main objective of the workshop was to organize a space in which public administrations and companies and promoters music and festival organizers, work together for promoting responsible recreation and healthy music festivals by promoting good practice in drug dependency by those companies and professionals responsible for the implementation of these events.

During the workshop were discussed the content should include a Code of Professional Practice on specific Drogodependencias for music and major events festivals, and would focus on issues such as, among others, dispensing responsible drinking in the bars, the child protection by using bracelets or other means of identification at the entrances and bars, controlling access to the halls of concerts and camping areas, care facilities to ensure basic conditions such as drinking water, lighting or hygiene, the establishment of agreements between businesses and governments to ensure adequate conditions of public transport between camping areas and enclosures or the illumination of passageways and access to facilities, and the needs of devices healthcare and first aid.

The application of this Code of Good Practice serve to distinguish those festivals and more responsible towards drug prevention events, which lead to the delivery of a distinctive way of recognition for their participation in the program 'service charge'.

These actions are part of the National Program for Prevention of Drug Addiction 'service charge', promoted by the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs and the Spanish Federation of Hotels collaboration with other bodies such as the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and whose main objective is to promote a responsible leisure through companies and entities related to leisure.
