Culture and music star in the XXIV National Folk Festival District of Cartagena (23/06/2016)

From 4 to 10 July, the District of Cartagena will host the twenty-fourth edition of the National Folk Festival which will be based in the Agrifood Experimental Station La Palma and this year is dedicated to the figure of the troubadour José Maria Marin.

The event on Wednesday, June 22 was presented at the Museum of the Roman Theatre during a ceremony attended represented the City of Cartagena through the mayor, Jose Lopez;

Councillor of Finance, Isabel García;

the mayor of Transparency, José María Soler;

and the Councillor for Culture, David Martinez;

besides Maria Comas, director of Cultural and Artistic Education;

and many public who enjoyed live demonstrations of dances and musical instruments.

PROGRAMMING

Among the artistic programming included in the festival, the opening will be on July 4 with children's workshops and unavisita to the House of Folklore and continue the next day with a children's excursion and another guided tour.

And the jueves7 July, will be presented at 22.00 hereditas exposure: Legacy to the wind, Javier Lorente, and half an hour later the documentary series Life will be screened in the Field of Murcia.

On Friday 8th, from 11.00 in the morning, Aleix Tobias will give a workshop Iberian percussion instruments, which require prior registration before July 1.

That night, from 22.30 pm and held the Great Night Folk, with the performance of Coetus group and the Iberian percussion orchestra.

Finally, the festival will run until Sunday because at 00.30 hours will start the official closing ceremony with fireworks.
