The Cartagena Muram hosts the photographic exhibition'Chicas new 24 horas', a project of the filmmaker and actress Mabel Lozano (17/06/2016)

The Regional Museum of Modern Art in Cartagena (Muram) today inaugurated the exhibition based on the documentary of the same name directed by Mabel Lozano, which includes a selection of frames 'new 24 hours Girls', as well as fragments of the documentary and to be able to visit in the attic of the museum until 18 September.

The 'new 24 hours Girls' project denounces the buying and selling of women and girls for sexual exploitation has been carried out in collaboration with Cepaim Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.

For display in the Muram, he has enjoyed the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson.

The general director of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas, this morning the project with Mabel Lozano;

the exhibition's curator, John Nicholas, and the state director of the Cepaim Foundation, Juan Antonio Segura, and stressed "the need for projects like driven by Mabel Lozano contributing to raise awareness in society, especially the young people, this reality that continues often hidden and the need to get involved to ensure its eradication. "

Selected for the sample photographs are images of travel-shooting of the film, passing through Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay and Spain, and leads the visitor into a clandestine world of high hardness.

In addition, each photograph is accompanied by a text that portrays people and situations that revolve around sexual exploitation.

Comas recalled that "cinema, photography and art have served throughout history to denounce all kinds of situations, it is a powerful tool for education and social awareness that becomes a mirror of our reality and we must seize it."

The director stressed that this exhibition will be completed with guided tours and workshops for people of different ages.

These dynamic and complementary actions will be aimed at promoting social responsibility.

Also, training activities such as lectures and visits, for which the Cepaim Foundation has developed a tutorial will be made.

The Muram remain open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:00 hours;

Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00;

and Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00.
