"The schools in the Region of Murcia are very much alive and being demonstrated in all events that promote scientific vocations and entrepreneurship.

And they are there because teachers go beyond the classroom. "

With these words, the Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, today thanked the work of teachers who participated in the Campus of Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the largest technology fair in the region.

The Minister has presided over the ceremony Murcia awards 'C @ _MING Foundation Seneca-UPCT', funded by the Seneca Foundation.

This year, students from school Los Rosales, El Palmar, and the Institute Jiménez de la Espada, Cartagena, have won the awards', which distinguish the best scientific projects by students of Elementary and Secondary Education in the Campus lngeniería of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).

Students in 4th of Primary CEIP Los Rosales have been awarded for their workshop "Iodine Sublimation".

In their experiment, students performing basic operations of a chemistry lab to convert this material from solid to gas without passing through the liquid phase.

Students of 4th course of ESO IES Jiménez de la Espada joined music and physics through three experiments.

During the event, held at the Ministry of Education and Universities, the directors of the winning schools have highlighted the enthusiasm and desire to learn from the students.

The Rector, Alejandro Diaz, said that members of the Unit for Scientific and Technological Culture UPCT has already begun work on the next edition of Campus Engineering, as one of the obligations of the University is bringing science and technology and promote technology to prepare professionals who need the whole society vocations.

Diaz thanked the support of the Ministry of Education and Universities, sponsored by the Seneca Foundation and the work of the Centre for Teachers and Resources of the Region of Murcia.
