The regional manager of Public Works made the remarks after the meeting he had today with the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, in which priority projects were discussed in infrastructure, such as connecting Cartagena to the high speed, variant Camarillas, Shares Logistics Zone (LAZ) and the inner harbor Gorguel projects "that encourage development and investment in Cartagena and that are on the agenda of the regional government."

In this regard, he reported today that his department has already started the bidding process for drafting the study of technical and economic feasibility of Logistics Activities Zone (LAZ) of Cartagena, which is planned to develop in the industrial area of ​​Los Camachos .

The Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure said that the Ministry has initiated the administrative procedure for the recruitment of this study, which has a starting 108,000 euros in regional government budgets.

"There is thus a step in a project, whose location has been set in Los Camachos, with the consensus at the political, business and social level, and now continues to make progress in the design and configuration of this project," said the counselor .

The study will answer the need for a ZAL in Cartagena, its characteristics and its development, in order to distribute the surface and spaces and work phases in which it will run.

It will also analyze best connections by road and rail with the logistics hub, the location of the intermodal station and the type of companies that you can accept.

The Minister also informed the mayor of Cartagena of the situation of other infrastructure such as the AVE, the variant Camarillas and dock Gorguel, which "has the support of the regional government as it will equip the port city of a new terminal containers, which will create jobs and prosperity in the region ".
