Two working committees analyzed separately prevention measures and urgent action in the Bureau of the Covenant Night (11/05/2016)

The Bureau of the Covenant Night has agreed this morning to create two working committees that dealt with separately measures and actions aimed at prevention and education about the consequences of alcohol consumption and to be taken urgently to tackle the current problem that exists in areas such as the Historic Center and La Manga-Cabo de Palos, for holding bottles.

The latter, which will design the urgent actions, already meet next week and will be integrated by the entities and affected groups very directly about the problem of nightlife for young people, especially botelleo, and for any inconvenience generated in the rest of the population.

This morning we met for the second time the Bureau of the Covenant Night, with the assistance of the council of Good Governance and Participation, Juan Pedro Torralba;

Security and Interior, Francisco Aznar;

and the Office and Transparency Portal, José María Soler.

It was also in representation of the municipal opposition groups, Diego Ortega People's Party;

Ana Branch, Citizen;

and Pilar Marcos and Teresa Sanchez, Cartagena Yes We Can.

They have also been representatives of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and its student council;

Youth Council;

of youth of political parties, the Federation of Associations of Parents;

of neighborhood associations and civil platforms of the most affected areas such as La Manga, Cabo de Palos and historic center;

of Hostec;

Chamber of Commerce;

Municipal Drug Addiction Plan;

Youth Center Technical Department of Culture, Education, Environment and Health, Safety, Decentralization, Youth and Development and Economic Strategy, among other Resources.

During the meeting were discussed the proposals made by each of the members of the board have revolved around the need for prior knowledge, through surveys, the opinion of young people about this problem and its approaches;

the experience of other cities;

continuity in prevention and measures aimed at educating youth on respect for the rights of others not to bother;

and the creation of spaces específicosen which can develop in a controlled manner without discomfort nightlife, with performances alternatives to alcohol.

All of them will be grouped into blocks to be analyzed and studied in the two working groups that will launch.

The Bureau of the Covenant Night of Cartagena was established on 28 April within the Commission for Citizen Participation.

It has an open character and it integrates the various social agents and sectors involved to agree on measures that make possible the reconciliation of the right to enjoy youth with rest of the neighbors.
