The municipal government shows its support and appreciation to the Afibrocar association (09/05/2016)

The Afibrocar association works every day in supporting patients with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome living with a chronic pain that alters them the rhythm of their lives and prevents fully enjoy their daily activities.

The struggle of this association for the recognition of the disease and research is ongoing, so looking for more support, the president of Afibrocar, Emilia Barranco, and the members of the association Toni Diaz and Ana Murcia, have been received this morning by the mayor, Jose Lopez, with whom he held a meeting to send their claims for support by the local government.

The mayor has shown support for this association reporting that will lead to full municipal requests of the group and try to come out a compromise approved by all groups to urge the regional government to be recognized within the regional rules this disease as invalidating, which is taken into account, that value case by case and put aside the age of patients because they are not linked to the disease.

Besides this, it intends to ask the regional government to give the subsidy gave them years ago as only the municipal aid and membership fees hard time keeping.

By the association they would have given the mayor a manifesto to be read on Thursday 12 May on the occasion of the celebration of World Day of Fibromyalgia in all cities, show that gathers claims calling by collectives they work around these diseases for both patients and their recognition and research mainly.

From Afibrocar they have shown grateful to the support shown by the local government to make them more visible, reporting that on Thursday, in order to report on the functioning of the association and the disease itself made information tables at health centers and hospitals to be known.

On Thursday, 12 at 12:00 hours the manifesto will be read in the Regional Assembly, an event that will be attended by the Councillor of the Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, and the Councillor for Social Services, Carmen Martin.
