The Italian accent will be more present in the streets of Cartagena from today, due to the 40 students of the transalpine country that have been received at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena to begin studies in a dozen master's degrees UPCT.
Students come thanks to a scholarship program between the National Social Security Institute of Italy (INPS) and the Campus of International Excellence Mare Nostrum, by which these students are offered a specific program to study for a year and a half masters of two public universities in the region of Murcia.
The program attracts more students every year and this year has grown by 30% the number of Italians who will attend postgraduate studies at the Polytechnic of Cartagena, while it has increased to ten the variety of master's degrees by those interested.
Italian students will join the classes of the Masters in Advanced Techniques in Agricultural Research and Development, Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, Accounting in Tourism Management in ADE, in Telecommunications, in Architectural Heritage in Building & Technology of Water and Land.
The Italian government scholarship includes tuition of the master, a crash course in Castilian, a course of preparation of the master, for three months access to university gymnasium, three-month paid internships and financial aid for other expenses.
The reception of foreign students with this type of program is an important source of income for the UPCT, while increasing the international connection of students and researchers from the Polytechnic.
Welcome Italian students, held in the Student House UPCT, he was chaired by the Director General of Universities, Juan Monzó, and the Vice Chancellor for Internationalisation, Jose Manuel Ferrandez.
